Celebration of success
Krystle Craig- Thomas
Krystle chose to alter her educational/career path following her A-Levels. Initially Krystle tried working as a trainee chef but was unemployed for 6 months having decided that she wanted a 9am – 5pm job. Woodspeen Training worked closely with Kirklees Council to provide Krystle a work placement to prove herself, this then led to the offer of an Apprenticeship. The Apprenticeship is more than a job to Krystle, she feels that it offers her excellent opportunities to gain relevant knowledge and learn new skills which will help her to progress in her role and career, and whilst she is getting paid. Krystle has found the Apprenticeship programme to be perfect. She has a great work ethic and receives lots of support from her dedicated Tutor. With her employer’s and Woodspeen’s support Krystle now believes that she will achieve her goals and enjoy a brighter future.
Sarah has recently won the ' DWF Repairs & Maintenance award Apprentice of the Year 2014' for Kirklees Council. She started her Level 2 Apprenticeship in 2012 and was supported by her Assessor to enable her to complete this and move onto an Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration. She has worked very hard throughout her Apprenticeship and consistently demonstrates a high level of knowledge and skills within her workplace. Sarah will complete her Advanced Apprenticeship ahead of target next year and this is down to her commitment and determination to succeed.
To celebrate the National Apprenticeship Week, Alderwood (the leading education and training recruitment agency) opened nominations for their annual national awards, which honour the industry’s top Apprenticeship Assessors and Apprenticeship Line Managers/Supervisors of the year. A judging panel, consisting of Jim Knight (Ex Education Minister) and Directors from Alderwood chose the winners from a large field of nominees.
